Great opportunity to connect and celebrate with young people at Broomfield Hall campus

It was an absolute joy to be invited to this event again which aims to show off the fantastic work staff and students are doing to support young people with SEND into the workplace. Lots of charities and organisations, like WTF, that support young people are invited and get to celebrate all that young people can achieve when given the right support, at the right time, and by the right people.
Students serve refreshments, others have their cv to show off as part of their course to prospective employers, whilst others help set up and set down – all valuable experience to add to their cv.
There was a lot of orange around the room – this is the colour to celebrate National Supported Internship Day – and we were asked to wear something orange too. I’ll be honest orange really isn’t my colour but I was very happy to join in and turn the usually green WTF stand into a very orange one – I even brought fresh oranges too!
I bumped into a few students who have been part of workshops we’ve delivered over the years and it was such a joy and encouragement to hear how they’re using the WTF notebooks we give at each workshop. Some of them told me how they remember Will’s story and how it made them feel and even how it changed how they think about suicide.
It’s a real team effort and I can’t wait for next year’s event.
