Thanks to all attendees and our guest speaker James Creaghan
We were absolutely delighted to welcome so many supporters to our 2025 Annual General Meeting. The room was full of warmth, purpose and a strong shared commitment to supporting young people’s mental health. It was wonderful to see such a cross-section of our community – trustees, volunteers, partners, and supporters – all gathered in one space. It gave us the opportunity to reflect on the year just gone and to look ahead with renewed energy and focus.
A key moment of the evening was a presentation from James Creaghan, who joined us to talk about the important work of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Team at Derbyshire County Council Public Health. James gave us a powerful overview of the team’s priorities, current challenges, and the importance of strong partnerships in tackling mental health inequalities. His contribution gave real context to our own work and helped us all reflect on how we can continue to play a vital role in the wider landscape of suicide prevention.
Another highlight of the evening was an inspiring report from our CEO, Joanna Garvey, packed with updates on the impact we’ve made this year. From the continued success of our Wellbeing Libraries and Care Packs, to our workshops in schools and workplaces The report shone a light on the dedication of our volunteers, the key role our young volunteers play and the growing number of young people we’ve been able to reach.
And while the formalities were important, and we really celebrated everyone’s contribution, what really brought the evening to life were the amazing conversations that flowed afterwards. We are all about meaningful connections and had some very insightful discussions. It was a positive reminder of why we do what we do – and why we do it together. Together, we are making a real difference – and we’re excited for what’s next.
