WTF joins IASP – the International Association for Suicide Prevention

The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) is an international organization whose aim is to prevent suicide and to develop a community of professionals who contribute to this end. The text below is taken from their website.
The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) is dedicated to preventing suicide and suicidal behaviour, alleviating its effects, and providing a forum for academics, mental health professionals, crisis workers, volunteers and suicide survivors.
Membership of IASP means that the Will Garvey Trust Foundation (WTF) has access to a wider range of resources, can engage with the work of ‘Special Interest Groups’ (particularly in the field of suicide prevention for men and boys) and be involved in international campaigns and awareness raising events. WTF is excited by what the year ahead offers. Being a member of the IASP means we are better able to improve our provision for young people in our local community.
