Wayne’s Run – a challenge met and £470 raised for WTF

One of our amazing supporters, Wayne, woke up one day and decided to join a local couch to 5 K. It was quite a journey, but what a result ! And £470 raised too.

Little did he realise that it would lead him to embarking on months of training, come rain or shine, or even snow, around the highways and byways of West Hallam in preparation for the Robin Hood Half Marathon last weekend. Often supported in his training by his wife, Helen, Wayne stuck to his plan and kept us updated with his progress with regular training maps.

On a crisp Sunday morning Wayne set off running confidently with the intention of doing the 13 miles in under 2 hours. He smashed it! 1 hour 57! And he raised £470 for WTF too! A great effort and quite an inspiration. Well done, Wayne.
