PREVIOUS UPDATE: (Dec 1st 2020) Winter Ball 2021 is going ahead but online at yours !
The next fabulous quiz night is arranged for April 5th at the Stute, home of Ilkeston Rugby Club.
Bring your friends, your knowledge and leave your phone at home for an enjoyable evening. Only £2 per person with a cash prize for the winning team. There will be a raffle with some great prizes too.
Food will be provided and drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
Ilkeston RUFC have invited WTF to Elk Stock, which will give us significant opportunities to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing whilst raising much needed funds.
This will support us to run further awareness campaign in schools, colleges and community groups.
We’re really looking forward to sharing our message and talking with our local communities about the support, advice and guidance available for children and young people, in particular.
Our bi-annual invitation only Winter Ball will be taking place in January 2021. This is a great opportunity for trustees, volunteers, family friends and associates to gather, share stories and enjoy each other’s company.
We had a wonderful time in 2019 at Breadsall Priory who made us so welcome. 2021’s Winter Ball is being planned and organised.
Watch out for more information, soon.

Great news – although we can’t meet in person because of COVID-19, you will still be able to don your glad rags and dance the night away at our Virtual Dinner Party.
Saturday 6th February is the date, and near a computer screen is where you need to be and the event will stream live into your living room, your kitchen, your garden, or wherever you want to be.
For a minimum donation of £12.50 per person you will receive a suggested menu, and a party pack that will include 5 raffle tickets and a few other surprises to make the night one to remember.
Dress code: dress to impress ! With prizes for the best dressed group.
We might not be able to get together just yet, but we can work through this, like we did with Willfest, and have a great night raising money to help those young people we know and love make informed decisions about their well-being, and point them in the right direction for professional support and help.
In 2021, subject to Coronavirus restrictions, Papyrus will organise a HopeWalk across the country and encourage as many people as possible to come together with one common aim: to shatter the stigma and to get conversations about suicide started.
We will participate with a walk from West Hallam to include places that meant something to Will and the family. It may be a full walk, it may be a picnic as part of it. More news to follow.
We aim to create a purple wave of awareness so please get in touch if you want to be involved.
Our signature event: our celebration of Will’s life.
This year we are already planning for a ‘real’ event, though we will again go ‘virtual’ if restrictions still apply later this year. Final decisions on ‘real’ or ‘virtual’ will be made in next couple of months, but for now our planning is that it will happen for ‘real’. Yay !
And of course, we will be doing some of Will’s favourite things: enjoying live music, good food, and even better beer, and being with friends. When we know more we will invite you to join us and celebrate the life of a brilliant young man taken too soon.
We look forward to a wonderful Willfest21 !
