So what’s a WTF quiz night like ? And when’s the next one?

Wayne’s Worldies Raises the Phoenix Quiz Nights from the Drains

I was asked a question. “How many quizzes have WTF held?”  I think I could countdown about 12 over the last 8 years.

These “Pub Quizzes” started because mainly I love a quiz. I’m also pretty vein and enjoy a pint too.  The fledgling WTF quizzes were proper personal box tickers.

They also provided some of the five steps to well-being. Not only did they allow people to connect, but also allowed them to give generously and hopefully some learning took place. Add into it, that Will was very smart, had loads of cultural capital and loved a big fat quiz too, then our quiz nights were always the perfect fund raiser.

However, on reflection the first few quizzes were more Phoenix nights, than House of Games. Delusionally I was offering up prime Holness and Tarrant, but in reality, as I sat regally and arrogantly on the stage at The Miner’s Welfare Club Stanley, giving off Brian Potter vibes.

Then a few years later Wayne took over. With our weakest link gone, WTF quizzes moved from pointless to blockbusters. Wayne has brought imagination, creativity and a whole new house of fun to our quiz nights. He’s masterminded the old school with the new. He’s incorporated new technology with old favourites. He’s mixed white boards, pen and paper, stand up sit down with the digital. He has brought a new fresh dynamic, a quiz both for the egg heads and the universally challenged.

Also, not to forget Ian, Shaun and Tim, who now finish off each quiz in style with their playing card bingo which, if you play your cards right, can earn you a tidy sum.

At WTF (Wayne’s totally fabulous) quiz nights, there really is something for everyone. A real generational game.  And, because of Wayne’s popularity (8 out of 10 prefer him), our WTF quizzes are now ticketed events. This may mean you need to join the chase for tickets. Our quizzes are hosted by the amazing team at Pav Bar.

Look out for our next event Friday 5th December
