45 Club update – a chance to meet, make friends and talk…

We meet, we walk or run, we talk…..

By Hadley Trueman

The 45 club has been active now for the last few months, we have seen a rough total of 30 different people take part in group walks and runs with plenty of little furry friends joining us too. The first activities were held down at the Bennerley Viaduct site but with their recent closure due to extending their site for a new visitor centre then we headed out to the Young People’s Forest at Mead just near Shipley Country Park. It did not disappoint, a beautiful woodland trail walk had plenty of installation sights to be seen and the best part about it was the majority of the people who attended these walks had never ventured out down this route before. It was class seeing their reaction to this hidden gem!

As the 45 club continues to grow we get new faces at each meetup, people from different backgrounds that simply would not meet in other circumstances and they chat, chat about random surface level things but also we can begin to speak about tougher subjects. I am so grateful to everyone who has taken part this far and we look forward to welcoming many more faces!
